The only thing that helped me in 2020 was not yoga

Hi beautiful soul,

In 2020 (the year of Pandemic), I couldn't move.

I had just had an emergency C-section. My body was still in shock. My mind hadn't caught up. Everything I had built my practice around - the yoga mat, the meditation cushion, the pranayama routines felt completely out of reach.

But I could breathe.

Each inhale became a thread of strength.
Each exhale became a quiet surrender.

That was the moment I truly understood what yoga had been trying to teach me all along.

The foundation of yoga starts with the "BREATH".

With a new born baby in hand, I would just breathe deeply. I just practiced deep breathing exercises.

Here's what most people don't know: when you slow your breath down consciously, your nervous system physically shifts out of stress mode.

Your heart rate drops. Your cortisol lowers. Your mind stops racing not because you forced it to, but because the breath sent a signal of safety to your entire body.

🌿 What conscious breathing actually does for you

Scientists call it activating the parasympathetic nervous system your body's natural "rest and restore" state.

In plain words: a few slow, intentional breaths can calm anxiety within minutes, ease physical tension you didn't know you were holding, bring you back to the present moment when your mind won't stop spiraling, and help you sleep, think, and feel more like yourself.

You don't need a mat. You don't need an app. You don't need an hour. You just need your breath which you already have.

If your mind has been feeling heavy lately if you're exhausted, wired, or quietly longing for a moment of stillness this is your gentle invitation.

Try this right now.

Inhale slowly through your nose for 4 counts. Exhale slowly for 6.

Do it three times. Notice what shifts.

That feeling? That is what we practice together.
